World War II-era bomb found in drought-hit Po River

An extreme drought caused by record high temperatures in Europe has revealed World War II-era unexploded ordnance along the banks of Italy’s Po River.

Fishermen found an American-made bomb near the village of Borgo Virgilio in northern Italy near the city of Mantua on July 25. Reuters (opens in new tab)It seems that the bomb had been sunk there for over 70 years.
