The woman refused and returned to the garage. Her lieutenant again ordered her to drop her gun. When her woman refused again, the lieutenant fired several ammunition.
The adjutants and officers began first aid and requested EMS. Bowman later died in the hospital.
Sheriff Portage County states that following the department’s standard procedures, the adjutants involved in the shooting have been put on paid leave and agents of the Criminal Investigation Bureau are investigating the shooting.
BCI officials say it can take several months to complete the investigation.
