West Oso ISD director Conrado Garcia has postponed retirement due to a mass slaughter at Uvalde’s school earlier this week.
According to a news release from the school district, the Board believes that Garcia and his team of leaders “provide an opportunity to reorganize the school district and continue its activities in the community.”
“We are confident that this decision is in the best interests of the district and we can move forward and prepare for the 2022-2023 academic year,” the release said.
Garcia initially announced her retirement on Monday, with the final day scheduled for June 23.
Garcia has led the area for six years. He previously worked for Corps Christie ISD for over 30 years, 15 of which was Principal of Moody High School.
