Durango, Colorado — According to the Federal Attorney’s Office in Colorado, a 63-year-old man in southwestern Colorado was sentenced to 20 years in prison for sexually abusing his child.
Twaok’s Blair Route House was sentenced on Tuesday for exacerbation of forced sexual abuse in India and one case of abusive sexual contact with children in India. He is a member of the Ute Mountains Ute tribe.
The crime occurred while the children were taking care of him at his home in Towaok, Montezuma County. According to the Federal Attorney’s Office for Colorado, the crime occurred between January 1, 2006 and December 31, 2008.
Deputy federal prosecutor Matt Kirsh said these crimes could cause lifelong harm to children.
“The harm and suffering of these crimes is irreversible, but we have guaranteed that Mr. Haus will not harm his children anymore while in federal prison,” Kirsch said.
FBI Denver special agent Mycle Schneider said the ruling would hold House accountable for his actions while at the same time protecting the community.
