Corpus Christi, Texas – The City of Corpus Christi will hold a press conference to announce that the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) will provide $ 13.5 million in funding to restore the Packery Channel. In 2017, Hurricane Harvey caused enormous damage to waterway infrastructure and sidewalks.
Opened in 2006, the Packery Channel has provided significant recreational and environmental benefits by facilitating boating and constant tidal exchanges to the Gulf of Mexico and improving fishing in the Upper Laguna Madre.
The general public is encouraged to watch the press conference live on one of the following communication channels:
Facebook: @citygov
YouTube: CCTV Corpus Christi
