UK coronavirus deaths top 150,000: government

The government said on Saturday that more than 150,000 people died after being infected with the coronavirus in the United Kingdom. This is a milestone for one of Europe’s most affected countries.

The government has reported that the number of deaths within 28 days of a positive COVID test has reached 150,057 since the start of the pandemic. Russia is the only European country with the highest number of deaths.

The number of reports per day has dropped by more than the record 200,000 last week, with 146,390 reports in the last 24 hours.
