A US special envoy to Haiti resigned in protest of what he said was the Biden administration’s “inhuman and unproductive decision” to deport thousands of Haiti immigrants.
Former U.S. Ambassador Daniel Harrington, who took on his latest State Department post, will resign in July as the White House is working on a surge of immigrants from Haiti in the Texas border town of Del Rio. ..
Department of Homeland Security Said After an estimated 14,000 people gather under the town bridge this weekend, the deportation flights to Haiti will “accelerate the pace and increase capacity.”
In his September 22 resignation, first issued by US broadcaster PBS on Thursday, Foot said Washington’s policy on Haiti was “terribly flawed” and his own recommendation was “ignored and rejected.” Added.
