Columbia, South Carolina (WBTW) —Saturday’s Federal Court of Appeals temporarily blocked the Biden administration’s vaccination obligations.

The Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals in New Orleans has ruled that the US Occupational Safety and Health Administration bans mandates.

“The petition gives a reason to believe that Mandate has serious statutory and constitutional issues, so Mandate will stay here while waiting for further action by this court,” the ruling said.

South Carolina Attorney General Allan Wilson praised the ruling in a statement.

“The court has confirmed our submission and other benefits,” Wilson said. “The Constitution takes precedence. The President does not go beyond the law. The court may be everything left between us and the abuse of power.”

On Thursday, the federal government announced new vaccine requirements for workers in companies with more than 100 employees and workers in medical facilities treating Medicare and Medicaid patients. Also, the deadline for federal contractors has been extended.

The deadline for millions of American workers to receive the COVID-19 vaccine was set on January 4.
