Women identified online as: CaravelleAttended a meeting that was supposed to be about COVID, to raise her concerns in a book available to junior high school students.
According to Bell, the book titled “Out of Darkness” Ashley Hope Perez It features a section about anal sex that she finds very inappropriate.
“I don’t want children to learn about anal sex in middle school,” Bell told the board. “I have never had anal sex. I don’t want to have anal sex. I don’t want my kids to have anal sex. I want them to start focusing on education, not public health!”
The school board reportedly pulled books off the library shelves in response to Bell’s complaint, and a district spokesperson told KXAN, “The district aims to deny students access to ideas that the district disagrees with. Do not delete materials from the library. “
He goes on to say, “The district may delete the material because it is widely slang or based solely on the educational relevance of the book in question.”
