Wichita, Kansas (KSNW) – 23-year-old Keshawn Dawson, a suspect in a murder at the Enigma Club, was arrested today in Phoenix, Arizona.
He was wanted for murder and other charges resulting from a shooting that fatally injured 34-year-old Preston Spencer and injured six others with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound.
He is currently the Wichita Police (WPD) Officer, appointed Task Force Officer for Marshall Services of the United States, and has been enthusiastic about searching for Dawson for the past four weeks. His efforts resulted in the arrest of Dawson with the support of the United States Marshals Service Fugitive Task Force. He is successfully arrested and the process of being handed over to Sedgwick County takes place.
At around 12:40 am on September 7, the police officer was Enigma Club, 351N. Responded to a call for shooting at Moseley. Upon arrival, police officers found multiple victims, all of whom were taken to a local hospital for treatment. Investigation revealed that Dawson had previously been involved in a turmoil within the club and was forced to leave. Dawson returned after a while and fired multiple rounds from outside the club through the window with a pistol, attacking the victims.
The case numbers associated with the study are 21C054963 and 21C054967. In addition, Dawson has an active felony Sedgwick County Warrant and is prohibited from possessing firearms due to a previous felony conviction.
