Sacramento detectives use DNA to find ‘Cloverleaf Rapist’

Sacramento officials have arrested a man suspected of committing a series of violent sexual assaults by identifying him using DNA technology and a genealogy website.

JD Wallace Simien was detained Thursday and booked to investigate kidnapping, rape and other felony charges.

Investigators believe he was a “cloverleaf rapist” who raped victims near highway entrances and exits that resembled a cloverleaf pattern between 2013 and 2014.

Wallace was recently convicted of investigators using the same DNA genealogy technique to rape Joseph de Angelo, the Golden State Killer, and nine women at home last year, Roy, the so-called “NorCal Rapist.” Identified after focusing on Waller.
