During the last century or so there were a lot of ridiculous cars to deploy from factories around the world. But from time to time, meaningless ideas break through cracks in product planning and move them from the drafting board to the real world, the result of which is very strange but interesting and ridiculous from the stupid category. These are vehicles that couldn’t have seen the light of day, but we’re glad they saw them.
1991 GMC Cyclone
Let’s get this out of the way right away: GMC Cyclone is very, very cool. Its performance to beat Ferrari is legendary, its turbocharged all-wheel drive powertrain is heroic, and its appearance is menacing. The fact that it’s cool is indisputable. But the original idea was full of madness. This was a two-seater pickup truck that couldn’t actually be towed or towed.
