Nicki Minaj faced public backlash on Tuesday after tweeting that his cousin’s friend had developed testicular swelling and impotence after being vaccinated with Covid-19.

In a series of tweets on Monday, 10 Grammy-nominated rap artists tell fans that they will be immunized only after thorough research, and wear masks and take shots when necessary for work. I recommended that. Minage skipped this year’s Met Gala, which enforced vaccine obligations. She said she generally avoids public events because she has a new baby at home.

Minage said he was filming a video and preparing for the Video Music Awards. The award aired on Sunday, when he had to catch Covid earlier this year and isolate him from his little son for a week.

But most people grabbed her comment about her cousin’s friend. Many have criticized it for disseminating false information.

MSNBC national correspondent Joy Ann Reid criticized Minage.

Minage blamed Reed on Twitter, shared news clips, and used racist terms to insult Reed, who is also black.

Doctors quickly pointed out that whatever the Minage relatives’ friends were suffering from, the side effects of taking a shot were unknown.

“We are all human beings and tend to relate things,” Dr. Arturo Casadeval, chair of molecular microbiology and immunology at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, told CNBC. He said testicular swelling and impotence were not side effects of the vaccine. “Often, irrelevant things are associated and the association with that person is very strong, but that’s why we have science.”

Casa de Baru said the symptoms experienced by Minage’s cousin’s friend were “almost certainly” unrelated to the vaccine and the timing was coincidental.

Minage skipped the Met Gala in New York City on Monday night, forcing guests to vaccinate requirements. She told fans that Minage hadn’t appeared publicly for more than a year, she said she was avoiding traveling to protect her little son’s health.

In a subsequent tweet, Minage said he was “confident” that he would eventually be vaccinated to go on tour. Attempts to contact the Minage representative were unsuccessful.

Vaccine hesitation is common nationwide and recently CNBC / Change Research Poll Discovered, it is a major obstacle to achieving what herd immunity experts say is necessary to curb future Covid surges in the United States. Federal people hesitated to vaccinate them.

Uncovering false information through conversations with vaccine evaders is essential to building public confidence, Casadeval said.

“These vaccines are very safe,” said Casadevall, who said the risk of side effects from the vaccines is significantly lower than the health risks posed by the virus. “On the other hand, Covid is deadly and unpredictable.”

And for those like Minage who are seeking further research on available vaccines before scheduling immunization appointments, Casa de Baru seeks guidance from the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the Food and Drug Administration. I made a suggestion.

“I don’t think it’s a survey to do a survey on the Internet or read a post on Twitter,” Casadeval said. “Investigation means that there is a way to systematically investigate the problem.”
