Panama City, Florida (WMBB) – On December 1, the city’s first event took place at City Hall, the first of several this week.
Panama City kicked off the holidays on Wednesday with a recital by the Panama City Symphony Orchestra. It was the first in a new series.
“Symphony in the City” will take place on the first Wednesday of each month, featuring musicians and singers from the ensemble.
The lighting of the tree and the decoration of the city is on Friday evening.
“It’s completely free to the public and parking is found throughout downtown, you can come for the tree-lighting ceremony and once you’re done you can enjoy or interact with some of our activities. here in downtown Panama, “Panama City’s Quality of Life Director, Sean DePalma said.
The Panama City Jaycees Christmas Parade is scheduled for 6 p.m. on Saturday. Due to construction at the marina, this year’s parade will begin at Tommy Oliver Stadium and head south to 4th Street.
Get there early because it will be another exciting year.
Jaycees President Tabitha Alexander said her favorite part of the parade each year is,
“Being able to see the excitement of the kids and just bringing the holiday cheer to everyone, being able to see all the patrons in the parade and everyone in the parade, how they decorate and the things they offer.”
All proceeds from this year’s parade will be donated to Tender Love and Care Medical Daycare in Panama City, to ensure children with complex health issues have a perfect Christmas.
