PANAMA CITY, Florida (WMBB) – A woman from Panama City, who is also a convicted felon, has been accused of stealing and reselling some of the property of her deceased roommate.
The Panama City Police Department said a woman claimed her late father’s fishing rod was pawned, and detectives took it back to the man’s former roommate, Dawn. Ellen Shanahan, 47, as a potential suspect.
Detectives discovered that Shanahan had sold four firearms and nearly 300 rounds, none of which were believed to have belonged to him, for $ 500.
Reports said Shanahan was not in the man’s will and that she had no rights to his property.
Shanahan has been charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, possession of ammunition by a convicted felon, firearm theft and trafficking in stolen goods. She was incarcerated in the Bay County Jail.
