OKALOOSA COUNTY, FL (WMBB) – The Coast Guard and other first responders are searching for a 14-year-old boy who went missing in Destin on Wednesday evening.
The boy allegedly swam at Henderson Beach State Park. He was last seen in gray shorts.
Officials said his friends saw him struggling to swim in waves about 200 feet from shore, then he went underwater and did not resurface.
Coastguards said crews searched through the night and were still looking for the boy. Staff from the Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office, the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission, and local rescuers are also helping with the search.
