Wolf was sitting at dinner on Wednesday and received two emergency alerts over the phone instead of one. They took it seriously, and when they ran to hide in the basement, they saw the roof fly and couldn’t see it. “This is where the trees decided to land,” said Stephen Wolf, showing three large trees breaking through the roof. “We headed this way. The kitchen roof disappeared and we went down the stairs,” said Stephen Wolf. “When we were down the stairs, Steve was behind me, like,’Go, go, go, go, go,’” said Cheryl Wolf. “It was like a terrible death storm,” he said. “He was sitting in a tree. If he wasn’t awake when the warning came, he would get up and not move,” Cheryl Wolf said. “We may not have been here.” They don’t want to think about what will happen. They are just grateful that they got up from their chair when they did. “We stayed there until we thought everything was calm,” said Cheryl Wolf. When they came out of the basement, they explained what they saw. “It was like an explosion,” said Stephen Wolf. “In a blink of an eye, the sun was shining here and there.” The storm left such a mess, and they don’t even know what it was, but outside, the tornado almost touched the rural farm building. There wasn’t. A storm seems to have flooded the house with only a small hole left in the roof of a building. “It was worth 32 years and it was done in just a moment,” he said. But the family knows that the storm won’t last long. “We get over it. We always have and always pull together. Our family always pulls together,” said Cheryl Wolf. “We are strong. We are resilient, God is behind us, and there is nothing impossible.” Wolf rented real estate, rebuilt in collaboration with the landlord, and next year Return to summer.
