Native Hawaiian Education Programs To Receive $28 Million In Federal Dollars – Honolulu, Hawaii

Hawaii’s Native Hawaiian Education Program has received a total of $ 28.1 million in federal funding under the US Rescue Program to support the grant, the US Senator Brian Schatz’s office announced: Tuesday press release..

The 35 beneficiaries include educational institutions such as Hawaii’s Immersion School and the University of Hawaii, and nonprofits such as the Native Pacific Institute for Education and Culture and the Hula Conservation Society, including UH, Partners in Development Foundation, and Keiki O Ka Aina Family Learning. “This new federal funding will ensure that Native Hawaiians education programs have the resources they need to support their students in time for the next school year,” said Schatz, Senator on Indian Affairs. The chief said in a statement.
