On Thursday, the Mariposa County Sheriff’s Office released new information detailing the causes of death that the detective may have ruled out.
According to officials, 45-year-old Jonathan Gerish, 30-year-old Ellen Chung, 1-year-old Aurelia Miju Chung Gerish and their dogs used guns and other weapons, lightning strikes, carbon monoxide, and carbon dioxide. I didn’t die. , Exposure to cyanide, illegal drugs or alcohol or suicide.
Detectives work with toxicologists, environmental experts, and the FBI to narrow down the official cause of death.
Last month, investigators said they had collected water samples in the area where the body of the family was found. Results have not yet been revealed, but authorities have not ruled out the possibility of toxic toxins in water, including outbreaks of toxic algae.
Excluded causes of death:
Guns or other types of weapons
Illegal drug / alcohol
All other potential causes of death remain, including toxic algae.

The sheriff’s office says many toxicology reports have returned, but the content of those reports is not disclosed at this time.
Officials say they are still waiting for some “significant results” and the timeline for their reporting was not immediately apparent.
In a press release, Mariposa County Sheriff Jeremy Breeze said, “We respect and understand the need for information and details regarding this incident. Our current priority is Gerish during this tragic period. / We continue to support and inform the Chung family. Family, we will later share our findings with the general public. “
