Matthew McConaughey is not No Candidate for Governor of Texas.
The Oscar-winning and best-selling author told NPR host Scott Simon at an open-ended live forum on Twitter space Thursday, “I’m not, until I’m here.” “It must be personal to me, but it must also be the most useful to most people.”
When McConaughey sees American politics as a “broken business” divided by politicians whose main goal is to maintain their political party, he is called the “Chief Executive Officer of the State.” I kept thinking about what it meant.
Still, the actor didn’t offer much in terms of certainty when answering hotbutton questions from listeners about his opinion. I like to call it an “approach book”), Green light..
“I’m the more chosen man,” he said, putting pressure on a new controversial abortion law in his home state that banned this procedure as early as six weeks gestation.
Christian Smalls, a former Amazon employee who turned into a worker rights organizer, asked the actor for his views on Amazon’s efforts to unite workers.
In both respects, McConaughey said he had homework. “I’m more interested in the bigger question of what this politics has become,” he said.
What about the coordination of his political parties? He doesn’t say exactly, but instead led Texas’s independent spirit of “wanting to balance a democratic ship.”
“I think we’re here to take the lead, not to leave,” he said of the Texas.
