Virginia Beach, Virginia 2021-12-02 05:54:01 –

Virginia Beach, Virginia (WAVY) – Kamryn Bonas is an energetic 11-year-old from Virginia Beach. He likes to focus on helping those in need of that energy. He looked back on the rides he had recently taken with his mother and came up with ideas for his latest project.

“We were overtaking homeless men, but they didn’t have masks or gloves, so I asked my mother,” How can homeless people protect themselves from COVID 19? ” I asked.

At that time, the “safety box” was born!

“Safes include gloves, masks, hand sanitizers, and custom safe T-shirts,” says Kamryn.

The box also has UV disinfectant rays that clean the mask in minutes. This sixth grader incorporated the idea of a safe into the “Summer of Innovation Entrepreneur Contest” created by Pharrell Williams. Kamurin has won!

His prizes included $ 1,000, Adidas + BBC apparel and swags, and a six-month mentor to guide the process.

“I had a mentor, Mr. Burnett. If you’re watching this, thank you! It all basically started with her,” Kamlin said.

Since then, Amazon Web Services has listened to him. The company liked this concept, so it built a website for Kamryn, funded the purchase of T-shirts, and donated kit equipment.

Now Camlin also needs your help to realize his dreams to help others, his business dreams.

“Go to the website to buy a T-shirt or visit the website GoFundMe. www.kamryn.shop , And you can donate. “

T-shirts and donations purchased from his website will be used to purchase box fixtures. Then he distributes them to the homeless, or you can buy a box and distribute them yourself.

Kamurin Bonas, a local kid who recognizes the need for change and is doing something about it.

If you know a kid doing great things in the community, our Katie Collet I would like to introduce them in her next Children of Change segment! Email her at katie.collett@wavy.com.
