Queen Elizabeth spent the night in the hospital after canceling her trip to Northern Ireland

Queen Elizabeth of England spent Wednesday night in the hospital, Buckingham Palace announced Thursday. It shows that her current illness can be more serious than her original symptoms.

The Queen canceled her scheduled trip to Northern Ireland on Wednesday and said she “reluctantly” accepted medical advice to rest for the next few days.

In an unexpected statement issued Thursday night, the palace said the monarch went to the hospital for “some preliminary investigations” on Wednesday afternoon. She returned to her home in Windsor Castle at lunchtime on Thursday and was “well”, the statement said.

The 95-year-old queen lost her husband, Duke of Edinburgh, at the age of 99 in April this year.

The statement did not give details about which hospital the monarch attended or the nature of the illness being investigated.

Banon charged with criminal insult in House vote

The U.S. House of Representatives criminally despises Donald Trump’s former Supreme Chief of Staff Steve Bannon on Thursday for refusing to cooperate with Congress’s investigation into the January 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol. I resolved that.

The Democratic-controlled House of Representatives cast 229-202 votes to keep Banon in criminal contempt, saying nine Republicans did not follow a subpoena from a special commission investigating January 6. Joined 220 Democrats to sanction.

The vote marks a major escalation of lawmakers’ pursuit of Trump and his allies in the wake of the siege of the Houses of Parliament, which blocked the proof of victory for Joe Biden’s electoral college. Banon’s proceedings are now being passed to the US Department of Justice, which decides whether to file a misdemeanor criminal accusation against him.

The vote on Thursday will take place a few days after Trump sued the Commission and the US National Archives on January 6 in an attempt to block the publication of nearly 50 documents related to the presidency. The former president argued that the document could remain sealed for executive privilege and that his allies could remain quiet. This is a legal practice that means that certain presidential communications can be kept secret.
