KDHE reports 21 more COVID deaths, 78 new hospitalizations in last two days – Wichita, Kansas

Wichita, Kansas (KSNW) —State health officials have updated their Kansas coronavirus numbers. They say that since Wednesday, more than 2,211 Kansas have tested positive for the coronavirus and 5,299 have tested negative. Of the new cases, 289 is the COVID-19 Delta variant.

The Kansas Department of Health and Environment also states that an additional 21 Kansas deaths are associated with COVID-19. In the last two days, an additional 78 Kansas have been hospitalized for the virus. KDHE does not track recovery.

According to the state, the dose of COVID-19 vaccine has increased about 19,000 times since the update on Wednesday.

  • An additional 5,625 Kansas received the first dose of COVID-19 vaccine
  • An additional 4,607 people received a second dose
  • An additional 8,737 people received a third dose

Of the Kansas states that are eligible for vaccination, 61.87% are armed with at least one vaccination and 55.23% have completed the vaccination series.
