The little girl, who became known throughout the United States as “the most abused child in the world,” underwent a secret experiment by scientists after being rescued by police.
After spending a short life being abused by his father spirit It will be abused again, but this time with full knowledge of the state.
When rescued by welfare authorities in 1970, Genie was given a pseudonym to protect her identity and suffered severe abuse and negligence from her mother and father, unable to speak or walk.
The genie was trapped in her bedroom just 20 months after birth by her father, Clark, who suspected she was mentally ill.
During this time, he tied her with a handmade straitjacket and tied her to a chair in a suburban home.
The girl was either tied to the bathroom or naked in the crib.
At night she was trapped in a crib with a wire cover.
Whenever she made a noise, her father barked at the girl or beat her hard.
Clark forced her daughter to live in social isolation and did not allow her mother and siblings to talk to her.
Genie was also severely malnourished after being fed an almost completely liquid diet.
Her toys were a cottage cheese container, an unillustrated copy of the TV guide, and a plastic raincoat.
The 13-year-old girl, who had a short life suffering from her family, then underwent a secret experiment by a psychiatrist, linguist, and psychologist who regarded her as a “natural experiment.”
The Genie case was so scientifically important that the US government paid a team of scientists to help answer many of the questions she posted.
At the age of 13, the genie’s mental age was 12-18 months.
The genie heard few words other than the words “stop” and “stop now”, so it will be a source of knowledge for scientists who want to learn more about child development.
After spending a lot of time in the hospital, Genie was handed over to scientists and foster parents to live with him until his 18th birthday.
Initially, Genie was caring for Jeanne Butler, one of the hospital’s rehab therapists.
In that short time, the genie prospered, but unfortunately it was not possible to stay long due to the Social Welfare Department’s policy prohibiting patients from living in hospital workers’ homes.
Genie was then moved from home to home by the various therapists who met her at a hospital in Los Angeles.
She spent the rest of her childhood connecting to hospital machines and participating in experiments with scientists disguised as caring parents.
One who worked on the Genie case called her teenager a clear example of exploitation.
“What I saw happening in Genie was a pretty terrible form of exploitation,” said an unnamed person.
“I realized I was part of it and had to vow to refrain from it.
“It turns out that the heavily abused genie has been exploited again.
“She was exploited outside the family, just as she was exploited within the family. It was exploited by another cast of characters. I’m sorry to say I was alone.”
As the genie’s condition worsened, her mother decided that the scientist was too close to the young girl and filed a proceeding against them.
She was prevented by the court from meeting an expert who conducted her secret experiments in the name of science.
At the age of 18, the genie returned with her mother, but was soon transferred to an adult care facility.
The whereabouts of the genie are unknown to this day, but she was reportedly hidden in a facility in Los Angeles.
