    GM’s Bright Drop Announces New Electric Van for Verizon

    Detroit — General Motors Bright Drop, a commercial electric vehicle business, plans to add a second van to its lineup in 2023. Verizon Communications Will be the first customer.

    Automakers said Tuesday that the EV410, a medium-sized work van, is expected to serve customers, including Verizon, which does not require a large delivery van like the EV600. It was announced in January.

    A BrightDrop spokeswoman declined to comment on the deal with Verizon. A spokesman for the telecom giant did not immediately respond to the request for comment.

    The EV410 was announced when BrightDrop confirmed that the first product build of the EV600 was complete.They arrive FedExBy the end of this year, its first customer, Bright Drop CEO Travis Katz told CNBC, as planned.

    The EV410 is basically a smaller version of the EV600. It shares the same look and also offers a 250 mile GM estimate range on a full charge.

    “The world is changing. The automobile industry is changing,” Katz said. “We need to be able to iterate faster. Much of what we do is pushing the boundaries of how we can get our vehicles to market faster.”

    According to Katz, GM expects production of the EV600 to begin in November 2022 at its Canadian plant.
