Nashville, Tennessee (WTVF) —The Federal Trade Commission has sent a warning to desperate customers about fraudulent test kits sold online.

Using fake products is not just a waste of money, it increases the risk of unknowingly spreading the virus or not receiving proper treatment.

Make sure the test you purchase is approved by the FDA. A quick search will give you a list of these answers and the tests that turned out to be fraudulent.

If you’re buying from a site you don’t know, check with the seller before you buy. Search online for words such as fraud, complaints, reviews, etc., in addition to the website or seller’s name.

FTC also recommends comparing online reviews from several websites. When you study, you can ask yourself where the reviews come from, and whether they come from professional organizations or individual customers.

Finally, FTC recommends paying by credit card. If it is a fraud and you are charged for an order that did not arrive or was ordered as advertised, you can challenge the claim.

Anyone who has information about fake tests or fraudulent sellers You will need to submit a report to FTC.
