Fresno, CA (KFSN)-Karen Valencia is ready to flash these pearly whites again, thanks to a brand new $ 50,000 smile.

“For one thing, I’m grateful. This is a big start,” Valencia said.

Seven-year-old Fresno’s mother suffered from her dental health and said she lived in shame and embarrassment before the procedure on Friday.

“My teeth were getting worse, I lost my teeth, I had low self-esteem, and I was experiencing personal problems at home,” she said. “That was bad.”

Valencia’s smile transformation is made possible through the Fresno Oral Maxilo Facial Surgery and Dental Implant Center’s Second Chance Program.

She was selected for life-changing surgery from more than 400 applicants.

The process took months as the doctor surgically inserted a dental implant to guide her on the path to a new smile.

“When she had surgery and the first set of teeth was delivered, her overall propensity changed. Indeed, they are her temporary set of teeth. Today is her last set of teeth. It’s a set of teeth and we’re really excited about how this changes with her. Her life, “said Dr. Shannon Burnhart.
