Fresno, California 2021-09-19 03:00:44 –
In the fourth quarter, with four lead changes, Jake Hayner connected with Jalen Cropper for a 14-second touchdown. Heiner shot one after another in his pocket and finished throwing 39/53 at 455 yards with two touchdowns and a passcut. Ronnie Rivers was in a hurry carrying the ball 21 times with 136 yards and two touchdowns.
It was his second chance for Dogs to defeat the top 15 teams on the PAC-12. Two weeks ago, FS led # 11 Oregon in the fourth quarter, dropping to 31-24 (Duck is now ranked fourth overall).
The bulldog started scoring. A one-yard touchdown from Ronnie Rivers limited a 10-play, 55-yard drive, including a third and 24 conversions between Jake Hayner and Thai Jones.
After a two-point conversion failure, the FS dragged 7-6 after a 5-play 73-yard drive of just 1:49. Capped with a 6-yard run from Zack Charbone.
Another orderly FS drive ended with a touchdown on the 1 yard line. This time it was run by JalenCropper. In subsequent kick-offs, Tourea Reunion graduate Kazme Allen would have returned 66 yards and would have scored without a tackle from behind by McDalena (SJM).
After keeping Bruins in the field goal, the Rivers went free with a 36-yard touchdown to 20-10FS.
Hayner was intercepted for the first time this season, but in the first play of UCLA’s next drive, senior quarterback Dorian Thompson-Robinson failed and Dogs Junior Defensive Tackle Leonard Pain Jr. failed to recover the ball. I fell in. Abe Montano scored a 21-yard field goal, giving Dogs a 23-10 lead in the break.

UCLA responded with a 39-yard touchdown from Thompson Robinson to Cam Brown, starting the second half and cutting the FS lead to 23-17.
The dog started the fourth quarter at 26-17 and was driving even more before Hayner failed the failed snap and returned the ball to Bruins. Thompson-Robinson connected with Kyle Phillips, cutting the lead to 26-24 on a 42-yard strike and playing 8:10.
Subsequent dog drives brought another fumble. At the end of Josh Kelly’s catch, SJM graduates stripped the ball and did another quick TD. This time, Zack Charbone gave Bruins a 30-26 lead at 7:27.
Next to FS is the beginning of Mountain West play. Conference play will face UNLV at 7 pm on Friday and the game will be broadcast on the CBS Sports Network.
