Fifth annual Flag for Heroes project set up along Ocean Drive – Riverside, California

    Riverside, California 2021-11-06 14:25:52 –

The Corpus Christi Rotary Club launched its fifth annual Flags For Heroes project along Ocean Drive on Saturday morning.

Volunteers from across the coastal bend have shown support to military personnel, first responders, and health care workers by installing approximately 1,500 American flags.

Jim Beyom, a member of the Corpus Christi Rotary Club, volunteered to flag the Flag For Heroes project.

Each flag sponsored by a member of the community honors a particular veteran, first responder, or healthcare professional.

“Corpus Christi is one of the most patriotic cities in the United States,” said Crystal Mead, former president of the Rotary Club of Corpus Christi. “(Flag) creates a spectacular display along Ocean Drive. It’s a tremendous event.”

Many local organizations, including Boy Scouts of America, Islander Women’s Golf Team, and members of Miller High School ROTC, are now flagging 3 feet x 5 feet.
