    ((((Hill) – Art LaFleur, a prolific actor known for being Babe Ruth in the classic movie Sandlot and another baseball player in the Field of Dreams, has been with Parkinson’s disease for 10 years. Died on Wednesday after the battle. He was 78 years old.

    “He was a generous and selfless man and took over his acting, but more importantly who he was for his family and friends,” with the late actor for 43 years. Said Sherry Lafruul, who was there. “Art was bigger than life and meant the world to us.”

    LaFleur has appeared in dozens of films throughout his career, including “The Blob” and “Cobra,” but is best known for playing Ruth in “The Sandlot,” and is a fictional character, Benny. Appeared as a ghost giving advice to Rodriguez.

    “Remember the kid. There are heroes and legends. Heroes are memorable, but legends never die, follow the kid in your heart, and you never go wrong,” La Fleur said. Says in one of the most iconic lines of the movie.

    The actor was born in 1943 in Gary, Indiana. La Fleur moved to Los Angeles in 1975 to pursue his acting career. According to his biographical page on the movie site IMDB.. He got his first gig in 1977 and played the role of the first major movie in “The Hollywood Knights” in 1980.
