Cop says Lawrence Taylor He was arrested for living in a hotel for months, but was unable to reveal it to law enforcement agencies, even though he was asked to do so.
It’s all spelled out in a new police document obtained by TMZ sportsPolice say the NFL legend made a big no-no after not letting them know that they had left a permanently registered address in April.
According to the document, officials say Taylor must be diligent whenever he moves and notifies authorities of a change of address because of his position as a sex offender resulting from a 2011 conviction. ..
Police, however, say investigations revealed that Taylor had moved to a hotel in Florida on April 2 and lived there without proper notice.
When police asked Taylor about the move, he said, “He lived in a hotel … to avoid the problem of becoming an ex-wife soon.”
Police officers say they told them they weren’t aware that Taylor needed to report the change of address-the officers have documents showing that Taylor should have known better. Claimed in the documentation.
According to the document, police officers issued his arrest warrants for all of them … and when he noticed the warrants, Taylor added, “I immediately crouched.”
Taylor has since been charged with felony charges of failing to register as a sex offender.
