Johnson City, Tennessee (WKRN) – Would you like to delve into ancient history here in Volunteer State? You will have the opportunity to wait for you at East Tennessee State University and no experience is required.

ETSU is calling on volunteers to join the paleontologist team at the Gray Fossil Site and Museum this fall.

This place has an ancient pond with fossils such as rhinos, mastodons, crocodiles and plants.

ETSU said that when asked about the work of volunteers on the site, each revealed thousands of new discoveries.

This year, they really need volunteers to sift the mastodon pit area of an ancient pond to isolate fossils.

Work is done in an outdoor area – a safe social distance from others. Volunteers need to work for about 3 hours and be prepared for light physical labor.

Good news here. No experience required. However, you must be at least 18 years old.
