Key goals include funding test sites, contacting tracing efforts, and fighting false information about vaccines and boosters.

The plan includes new legislation to ensure supplemental paid sick leave for essential workers who have been sacrificed in workplaces such as hospitals and schools.

“The COVID-19 Emergency Response Package we propose supports our testing capabilities, accelerates vaccination and booster efforts, supports frontline workers and medical systems, and is the hardest hit. We will focus on the community and fight false information, “said Governor of California Gavin Newsom. statement.

Governor Newsom is proposing $ 1.2 billion for testing to extend consultation hours and distribute more home kits to clinics and schools.

An additional $ 583 million will be used to combat false information to vaccinate and boost more community members.

The governor recommends $ 614 million to assist in staffing hospitals and vaccination facilities.

The plan includes $ 200 million to enhance emergency operations and $ 110 million for contact tracing programs.

Governor Newsom will officially announce at Sacramento on January 10, 2022 at 10:30 am.
