South Carolina Greer (AP) — BMW will expand its business in South Carolina by building a $ 100 million logistics center, said Governor Henry McMaster’s office.
According to a news release from the Governor’s Office, the facility will be located near the existing factory of a German car manufacturer in Greer. The new logistics center will be connected to the existing Spartanburg County business with two private bridges.
The logistics facility is expected to be operational by mid-next year, according to people familiar with the matter, to help supply parts to nearby factories.
According to the BMW website, the Spartanberg County campus currently employs more than 11,000 people and has produced more than 5 million vehicles since 1994.
