    Basic Japanese compact from 2008

Today’s Buy / Drive / Burn trio is the 2008 version of the same Japanese compact. last time.. Many of you split with the relative goodness of the Civic vs. Corolla in 1998, but the agreed Sentra should burn. Will those views change when cars are from 2008?

    Honda Civic

The 8th Generation Civic is the third year model year in North America and is available in sedan and coupe formats. The Civic looks a bit more edgy and serious than its older siblings of the 90’s, but the overall value is the same. There are a total of seven trims in 2008, with prices ranging from $ 14,800 to over $ 23,000. The most affordable sedan is the DX trim with a 5-speed manual transmission. The DX uses a 1.8-liter in-line 4-cylinder, is suitable for 140 horses and costs $ 15,010.

    Nissan Sentra

The Sentra entered the sixth generation in 2007, and the 2008 model has not changed. The Sentra is only available as a sedan and is on the same C platform as the Rogue. Unlike the Civic, which offers a standard automatic transmission, the Sentra is only available in a 6-speed manual or CVT. Five trims are available with prices ranging from $ 16,140 to $ 20,570. The base 2.0 is equipped with a CVT, so upgrade to 2.0S for a 6-speed manual. 140 horses arrived with a 2.0 liter engine. Nissan demands $ 16,370.

    Toyota Corolla

The Corolla is the 9th generation and the final model year. It has been on sale since 2003. In 2005, the Corolla was redesigned to suit the times! North America only receives Corolla sedans, but wagons and hatchbacks are available elsewhere. There are three trims and the price range is narrow, from $ 14,405 to $ 16,250. The cheapest CE with a 5-speed manual costs $ 14,405. The following 126 horses arrive at the front wheels from a 1.8-liter engine.

Three economy sedans in the late 2000s. There is no doubt that all of these are manufactured with less attention and concern than 90’s sedans. Which one is worth buying?
