Australian judge reinstates tennis star Djokovic’s visa – Tampa, Florida

    Tampa, Florida 2022-01-10 02:07:49 –

An Australian judge has revived tennis star Novak Djokovic’s visa, but it was canceled last week because he was not vaccinated.

Judge Anthony Kelly of the Circuit Court also ordered the government to release Djokovic from Melbourne’s hotel quarantine within 30 minutes of his decision.

The Australian government canceled the visa shortly after Djokovic arrived in Melbourne last week. This is because authorities have determined that all non-citizens do not meet the criteria for exemption from the immigration requirement of being fully vaccinated with COVID-19.

The judge said Djokovic provided the staff at the Melbourne airport with a medical exemption given by Tennis Australia.
