ASOS Signs Three-Year Partnership with Anti-Slavery International

Date:

UK-based fashion brands ASOS and Anti-Slavery International have recently signed a three-year partnership to support the former in offering an ambitious “Fashion with Integrity” program. Headquartered in London, the NGO has been acting as an “important friend” of ASOS since 2017, providing advice, guidance and criticism on ethical transactions and working on modern-day slavery.

Under the new agreement, Anti-Slavery International advises ASOS on the development of the next phase of modern slavery strategy.

According to an ASOS press release, this will be at the heart of future human rights strategies, which will be announced as part of the “Sincere Fashion” 2030 program by the end of next year.

The launch of ASOS’Fashion with Integrity program last September followed the development of Anti-Slavery International’s five-year strategy focused on ending child slavery. Responsible business; migration and trafficking; and modern slavery and climate change.

Until 2025, Anti-Slavery International’s central focus on responsible business is a stronger law to address the global system that enables forced labor in the supply chain. It is to bring about a framework.

This requires people to have decent work rights and companies are obliged to take meaningful action to eliminate slavery in the supply chain. Strengthen access to salvation and justice for workers, especially those in slavery and forced labor situations.

Best practices and learning from ASOS are used as evidence bases for NGO advocacy and campaigns to help drive legal improvements in protecting modern slavery or vulnerable people. ASOS will also be given the opportunity to support change across the industry with Anti-Slavery International.

In addition, each year the partnership focuses on one or more of the NGO’s crossing strategic areas of child slavery, migration and trafficking, and ending modern slavery and climate change.
