A trooper was spotted in the area of ​​SR-302 near Mile Post 5 at approximately 3:45 p.m., after the driver of the Chevrolet truck reportedly hit a Ford truck in the eastbound lane and left center. Called. The impact caused both trucks to veer off the road and land in a ditch, where they both burst into flames.

OSHP said there were three people in the Chevrolet at the time of the crash, none of whom were wearing seatbelts. Two men in their 30s were pronounced dead at the scene and a 23-year-old woman was taken to Akron City Hospital with serious injuries.

Ford’s 50-year-old driver was reportedly released at the scene after being treated.

It is unclear whether alcohol or drugs were involved in the incident and an investigation is ongoing.
