Asheville, NC (WSPA) – Asheville The man was charged with the death of his father last May.
The Asheville police station said 33-year-old Bobby Bruce Skartrick was arrested and charged with one murder.
Kirkpatrick was accused of murdering his father, 65-year-old Robert Kirkpatrick, on May 25, 2021.
Officers said they responded to Sweeten Creek Road’s home for domestic violence when they found Robert Kirkpatrick dead.
Later, state coroners determined that Robert Kirkpatrick died of mechanical suffocation and his death was a murder.
Bobby Kirkpatrick is being detained without being detained at the Buncombe County Detention Center.
