Climbing trees along the Pennsylvania highway is the last expected to be seen, especially in winter. But that’s exactly what happened in the woodlands near Danville, where Route 54 joins Interstate 80, about 130 miles northeast of Philadelphia.
The monkey was in a crate in an enclosed trailer when Pennsylvania police said the truck driver turned to the opposite dump truck.
“The next thing I know is that the dump truck hit the trailer and spun, and both hit the tree,” Michele Fallon told Nexstar’s WBRE / W YOU.
Fallon stopped and bystanders say the cat was in those crates.
“They covered it like a green cloth, so when I peel it off and stab it with my finger and try to stroke it, my head pops up.” Oh, that’s a monkey! “So I, Shocked, he approached the man and thought, “They are monkeys, not cats.” He goes, “What are they?” “They are monkeys!” Fallon explained.
Not only monkeys, but 100 cynomolgus monkeys from Africa went to the Missouri laboratory for testing. At one point I thought four monkeys had escaped, but in reality there were three.
The State Police and the Pennsylvania Game Commission have launched an hour-long search after the crash.
Two monkeys were found and killed on Friday night, but one was still loose, according to a tweet from state police on Saturday morning. By Saturday evening, the soldiers showed that the last one had been found and recovered.
The whole ordeal has caught the attention of people like TJ Steckley who work at a nearby fast food restaurant.
“Last night when I was scrolling my cell phone, I saw people posting about it and thought it was pretty weird. Then my mom came to my room and asked me about it. I asked him to help me find the monkeys, “Steckley said. ..
According to Steckley, the area is usually quiet and he still can’t believe what happened.
“Everyone is talking a lot about it, it’s the talk of the town now,” he explained.
Meanwhile, Fallon tells WBRE / WYOU that the CDC has contacted her and that the monkeys are not quarantined and monitored and are in close contact with one of the monkeys in the crate and need to take precautions. Said.
State police did not reveal exactly when and how the last monkey was found.
Earlier on Saturday, reporter Syndey Kostas covered this unique story when one monkey was still missing. You can find the video below.
PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) issued a statement on Saturday urging science to stop transporting monkeys from other countries to the United States and to stop experimenting in the laboratory. The statement was partially read:
Importing monkeys and afflicting them in the laboratory can cause more human illnesses than can be prevented by experimenting with monkeys. “

Fallon is grateful that she has not experienced any symptoms. But if so, she was told she had to notify the health department.
