In a document obtained by TMZ, Abbey says he was away from the bathroom when the left rear wheel got caught under the sliding bathroom door. She says she was locked in a wheelchair and locked in a doorway for 6-12 minutes.
According to the proceedings, Abbey shouted for help until two hotel staff came to lift the door. She was taken by ambulance to a nearby hospital, and Abbey says she is still receiving physiotherapy because of an injury she suffered on her head and shoulders.
The fall of the door is said to have been traumatic enough, but the document states that Abbey endured other difficulties during his long stay from March to October 2020. For example, she claims that the laundry room did not have access to wheelchairs or hallways. Abbey is accusing the hotel’s parent company of negligence, mental distress, discrimination, and imprisonment … and she is seeking compensation of at least $ 8.5 million.
