“I was able to use such a challenge”: a 76-year-old man drives a tractor nationwide

*** Everything started because Mike Atkinson’s brother-in-law of the joke was always talking about the need for a tractor ***. So Mike ironically offered to drive his tractor from Bellingham Washington to stay on Lake Minnesota. Then one day it wasn’t a joke. And finally, at the age of 76, I thought I could use such a *** challenge. So I’m going to do it before he embarks on a 1800 mile journey. Mike had another reason to go. His brother Dan was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease, which really hit our family. And, of course, there’s not much you can do to help. So I just thought, what do you know, I think I can collect donations by doing this. So he did. He passed through the snow, sometimes through the relentless sun. The tractor, right wheel was always *** feet away from the ditch. Mike’s John Deere culminates at about 15 mph. This is the main reason why it took six weeks to travel from Washington to Minnesota. Miles went slowly, but donations quickly piled up. By the time he arrived in Minnesota, Mike had raised more than $ 50,000 to study Parkinson’s disease. He spent the night at the motel, people donated to him during the day, one man stopped me, he ate beef jerky, and a few gals ate chocolate brownies. I really enjoy meeting people, and they enjoyed meeting the tractor guy and his 15-mile time mission to help others. He is the most compassionate, genuine and passionate person I know. All of us are supportive and thank him for accomplishing it here in one piece.

Imagine driving a nationwide (1,800 miles) with a tractor. A man from Washington traveled. Everything started as a joke. Mike Adkinson’s brother-in-law always said he needed a tractor, so Mike ironically offered to drive his tractor from Bellingham, Washington to Side Lake, Minnesota. And one day it wasn’t a joke.
