IIHS announced on Tuesday that a pair of GM’s small crossovers have topped the list of safety. 2021-2022 Buick Encore GX 2021-Wins Top Safety Pick Designation2022 Chevrolet Trailblazer Awarded Top Safety Pick + Award to my cousin. This is considered by many to be the strictest safety awareness in the industry.
The headlight rating divides the two awards. The Chevy Trailblazer standard and optional headlights received at least an “acceptable” rating, while the 2021-2022 Encore GX halogen headlight standard guaranteed a “limit” rating. Trailblazer’s highest rating applies only to vehicles manufactured after July 2020.
Both vehicles earned an “excellent” reputation for preventing collisions with other vehicles and pedestrians, and both crossovers were carried out by the insurance industry-funded nonprofit IIHS. Received the highest “good” rating in all crash tests.
When the Trailblazer was relaunched as a small crossover in 2021, NHTSA ranked the Trailblazer as a 4-star in crash tests, including a substandard 3-star passenger-side crash test. With the 2022 update, it has been upgraded to a 5-star rating, similar to the 2022 Encore GX.
Standard safety devices include automatic emergency braking, active lane control, and automatic high beams are standard on both models, but only the Encore GX has standard LED headlights.
